What side to pierce ear cartilage?

Q) Well I'm going to a sleepover on Friday. Me and my friend are going to pierce our cartilages. When answering this please don't tell me not to do it and it'll get infected etc. as I have pierced my 3rd set of holes in my lobes , my nose and my belly button with NO problems or infections. Anyway I was wondering what ear are we meant to pierce? Left or right? Because one of them makes you a lesbian. One girl at my school had it done on the wrong ear and despite having a bf everyone called her lesbian. So what side do we pierce? I don't wanna be called a lesbian! Lol I've decided to do my right ear as the first answer said that was cute and anyway I sleep on my left side.

A) The side you don't sleep on, it may get irritated if you lay on that side, mine did & I eventually had to take it out cause it never stopped being swollen. and the lesbian thing? it's a load of crap, it's like chinese whispers, that originates from a pierced ear on a certain side for men apparently was a sign they were gay. Just ignore it, if anyone says you're a lesbian cause of that, tell them you think they may actually be the gay one as they appear to have a homosexuality complex. Or if it really bothers you that much, ask the girl at your school lol.

Q) hi i'm 14 and have pierced my belly 3 times by myself( 2 unsucsesful, 1 infected) and my parents didn't know and they have strong neg. opinions about body piercings. my friend offered to take me to get it done prof. but i wasn't sure. do you think that i should pierce it again by myself or wait until i'm 18 and get it done professionally? p.s it's a four year wait p.s.s. are there any serious or minor side effects that could happen ex. damage to skin, stretch marks, pregnancy probs...etc.

A nose pierce & the coporate world of work, are they compatible??

Q) I am a 21 year old female who has a strong desire to pierce my nose. Nothing outrageous, just a small discreet stud. However I am currently studying at unviesity with the objective of entering the coporate legal world, and am wondering can i still pierce my nose, or would it ruin my employment opportunities?? A) Dont do it not yet anyway some employers are cool with that kind of things but others not so much so wait until you have the job and find out if they have any policy against that type thing first if sallgood and no policy do it if not then at least it has not impeded you in any way.

Can you re-pierce a tragus?

Q) I had my tragus pierced in October 2006 and at christmas I bought a new bar for it. After a week after changing it, I noticed a blood blister type thing which was really sore. Now, I want it doing again, this time I won't change it for a few months! Can I re-pierce it in the same place or will it go funny again?

A) Of course you can. It will be a hell of a lot more painful though. Going through scar tissue always is. Don't use salt solution or any crap like that. Clean 3 times a day using warm water and antibacterial Dial soap. Before the last clean of the day hold a warm, damp paper towel on the piercing for 1 - 2 minutes. Repeat after cleaning with a cool paper towel. This helps to reduce swelling and speed the healing process. No ointment, no touching the piercing except when cleaning. NO changing the jewelery for 4 months!

A) I tried to pierce my friends belly button and it wouldnt go though. I would get a sharp yarn needle, or a needle slightly bigger than an average one, burn the end so its sterile, swab down your stomach with rubbing alhol and pierce it. Nose Pierce Bump Solution? (Professional Piercers or People Who Experienced Only)?

Q) So, I've been reading other answers about this dilemma and I'm still confused. I got my nose pierced about 4 wks ago and I got that damn bump (very small) under my pierce, which won't seem to go away. Originally, I figured the pierce was too loose, so I went to get it tightened. Well, the bump is still there. I began to cleaning it with solution from the piercing parlor, then I figured to just clean it with sea salt because all my other piercing have done fine with just that. Welp, I still got the bump and read on numerous sites that tea tree oil, will heal it up. Its been a few days, and the tea tree oil seems to just make the bump a little worst.. I am wondering if getting back on sea salt soaks and nothing else will be the best solution. If so, how long will it take to heal? Also, what the best and beneficial way to soak the nose? The whole cup thingy is a little awkward... (Piercing Professionals only or people who experience the same thing)

A) Bumps are very common with nostril piercings. Just do the sea salt soaks 2-3 times per day and the piercing should get better in a week. Most of the time tea tree oil is to harsh on the piercing forming the scar and can cause lumps to form. Since the cup is a little awkward to use try soaking a cotton ball or tissue and place the wet cotton ball or tissue on the piercing and soak for 3-4 minutes. Pierce or Not to Pierce?

Q) I LOVE earrings. Although I'm not very good-looking, I personally think earrings make me look better and many other people agreed. But I'm too scared to get my ears pierced! I would like some clip ons, but they are more expensive and hard to get than regular ones. I actually have a fear for needles going through my skin (I can't even get shots...). What do you think? A) Actually, piercings DO hurt but only for a brief second. Especially ears, they use a piercing gun rather than a needle. So, it just feels like a really sharp pinch. If you do pierce, make sure you clean them really well. There's nothing worse than an infected piercing. I think you should do it. Regular earrings are often a lot cuter than any clip ons.

A) Please don't try piercing your nose yourself! You need to see a professional. I've seen ppl who try to do that stuff on their own and either end up w/a nasty infection, wrong size needle or jewelry, bad placement etc. etc. I can gurantee that if you do it yourself it won't turn out well!

A) I pierced my own lip and found that it was nearly imposible to get anything in it. If you really want to try to do it then go buy a croche needle and sharpen it on a file. Have a friend do it so you don't know it's coming and then just leave it in there for a few hours till you can get an earing or something in it. You'll need some yellow listerine to keep it from getting infected and your lip falling off. Best wishes

Nose piercing-does it matter what side of your nose you pierce?

Q) I've decided to get my nose pierced and was wondering if it is just your own preference of what side of your nose you pierce or is it traditionally a certain side? This may be a dumb question, but I know there's certain "rules" regarding men and piercing a certain earlobe.

A) It IS a matter of preference, however commonly, your nose is pierced on your right side. I just had mine done, and it looks brilliant! A couple of pieces of important advice, however: make sure it is pierced with a NEEDLE, not a gun, and ask that before the hoop/stud goes in to take a few minutes to rest, otherwise it'll hurt a lot when they try to yank out the straw left behind by the needle.

A) We pierced our daughters ears when she was 6 months old to the day. I wanted to get it done so she would not remember the pain. She did great. Only cried for a few seconds. It's really up to you. It's your child. You can read other people's opinions but that's all they are OTHER PEOPLE'S.

How can I pierce my ears myself?

piercing in earlobe won't quit closing up everytime i remove my earing it seals up & i have to pierce it again

Q) i went to body piercing place and he used a needle and put my earring in and told me not to take it out for 1 week. i waited the week but as soon as i removed it the hole sealed up! it's been three months now and my hole keeps closing up and i have to pierce my ear lobe again with a needle. it hurts like h\\\\, and bleeds Does anyone know what i am to do? the guy never used the "gun" --just a large needle. A) when i got my ears pierced they told me to leave it in for 6 weeks spinning the earring with my fingers to keep the earring from getting stuck, and then after the 6 weeks you were supposed to always keep an earring in the hole for another couple off months. i followed the directions (mostly) and mine were fine. hope it helps!

A) Its your choice, but I wouldn't do it- everyone I have ever known who has gotten their tongue pierced has had a lot of problems with it in terms of infection and broken teeth
